Andy Williams is a trainer and supervisor of psychotherapists and counsellors as well as offering counselling and psychotherapy himself. He has over 10 years experience and is trained in the Relational Approach to counselling as well as holding a masters degree in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy and a post graduate diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).
Andy works with individuals, couples and groups and is accessed by a wide range of clients. He is especially interested in work-related difficulties such as depression and anxiety.
Andy is frequently engaged by insurance companies and legal firms to offer assessment and intervention following accidents at work or road collisions.
Andy is recognised by the London Gender Clinic (Transhealth) and offers support with Gender Dysmorphia as a specialism.
Andy subscribes to the central beliefs of Transactional Analysis: that we are all of intrinsic value, can think and change, and have strong resources already to bring these changes about.
Andy Williams is a fully qualified and accredited Counsellor with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy BACP (Accred.). He also is registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapists and holds a Master's degree in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy (CTA, MA).
Andy has taken his TA (Transactional Analysis) development to the next level and is a qualified trainer and superviser in Transactional Analysis (TSTA).
Andy Williams is also dual trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy holding a Post Graduate Diploma from Durham University and the Newcastle NHS Centre for Cognitive and Behaviour Therapy.

Andy has worked in private practice since 2000, offering counselling and psychotherapy. He founded New Foundations at The Horsforth Centre in 2009 and since then it has been going from strength to strength as a provider of accountable, professional and friendly therapy.
As well as in private practice, Andy has worked in the NHS for over ten years, initially as a primary healthcare counsellor before moving to NHS tertiary services as a group therapist and as a part time NHS psychotherapist in Leeds. He now works full time in his private practice.
Andy's approach is one of working with you to establish your preferred method of therapy and establishing a joint way forward. Compassion is as vital a component of the work as professionalism, so expect a warm welcome and a shared interest in helping you to achieve your goals.
Sessions for couples and individuals last for 50 minutes.
