Evening Seminar : How to use the internet to build your psychotherapy practice
Ian Tomlinson is presenting this seminar and will examine the best way of using websites to attract clients and suggest other methods that are working well for other therapists. Ian is a therapist in private practice based in Manchester. He also runs Soul Healer Marketing, a business dedicated to helping therapists build their practice and get more clients.
Evening seminars are an opportunity to network and socialise with other professionals in an informal setting with time for discussion and sharing ideas.

Helen Rowland will be presenting a seminar exploring the postmodern critique of truth, reality and identity and its impact on the practice of psychotherapy. Helen has a private practice and supervision practice in Skipton and is Clinical Director of the Lightwell Practice.

Introduction to Transactional Analysis - TA 101
TA101 – Introduction to Transactional Analysis
Transactional analysis is a model of personality and a theory for understanding communication and relationships. The TA101 course is the official introduction to transactional analysis and will explain to you, over a period of two days, what transactional analysis is about. It can be a wonderful insight and experience as a standalone course, or could lead to further TA training.

Evening seminar : Be the leading actor in the drama of your own life
Sarah Morley will be presenting a seminar exploring how psychodrama can bring fresh perspectives to psychotherapeutic work and includes the opportunity to try out some psychodrama techniques. Sarah works as a counsellor and psychodramatist in private practice in Sheffield with groups and individuals.

Transactional Analysis Training: Foundation Year - starting Sept 2013
The Foundation Certificate in TA is an in depth introduction to the theory of Transactional Analysis. This can be done as a standalone year or can be accredited towards ongoing training in TA. It is made up of ten weekends study, one per month, September to June.
The modules include:
- The principles and philosophy of counselling and psychotherapy
- Ethics
- TA philosophy and history
- Contracting
- Ego state theory and diagnosis
- Transactions, strokes, time structuring and life positions
- Scripts and script theories
- Rackets
- Games
- Decontamination and deconfusion
- Symbiosis, discounting, redefining and passivity

The course will be held at The Horsforth Centre starting September 2013 and will be run by Ellesmere Centre for Psychotherapy and Training.
Transactional Analysis for Mental Health Professionals
This 10 module course is aimed at mental health professionals. The programme offers different perspectives and thinking about mental health problems using transactional analysis theory and provides a range of new tools and interventions aimed at increasing flexibility of working.
The course is for counsellors and therapists from other modalities, mental health workers, CPN’s, social workers, doctors, occupational therapists and clinical psychologists. It will provide opportunities to:
- Learn new concepts and increase confidence through using them
- Gain support for yourself in your work with clients
- Have a greater understanding of the structure of mental health
The course takes place over 2 days, one weekend a month, at the Horsforth Centre in Leeds. Each weekend consists of a teaching day (Sat) and an agenda driven day (Sun) for discussion of cases and client material. The course provides 120 hours of CPD. The total cost for the year is £1200 (can be paid in instalments).
The course programme is as follows (starting September 2013):
- 7/8 Sept: An Introduction to TA theory: The fundamentals of transactional analysis theory
- 5/6 Oct: Assessment and Risk: Suicide, self injury and self harm
- 2/3 Nov: Anxiety: How clients maintain their anxious belief systems
- 30 Nov/1 Dec: Depression: The stuck client
- 11/12 Jan: The therapeutic relationship: Levels of therapeutic relationship
- 1 /2 Feb: Groups: Who am I, who are they?
- 1 /2 Mar: Abuse: Early childhood traumas
- 3 /4 May: Food: Problems and concepts
7/8 Jun: Psychosis: Models, internal structures and ways of conceptualising - 5/6 Jul: Borderline Personality Disorder: Working with emotion regulation and avoiding burn-outs
The course is delivered by Lin Cheung and Andy Williams. Both are very experienced psychotherapists, trainers and supervisors.
