Watching the re-runs of Sherlock or Jonathan Creek makes me want to use my mind more effectively and stop gazing into space in those moments when I should be writing that blog or developing a new training workshop idea.
New research by Dr Nathan Spreng now suggests that my day dreaming can sometimes help with tasks that require focus and quick thinking. However, I need to clarify that using that part of our brain has to be relevant to the task in hand – and not wondering what to get for lunch.
