Training courses at The Horsforth Centre have been going from strength to strength. We are now delighed to announce the launch of TA Training Organisation – a UKATA registered training company – based at the Horsforth Centre.
TA Training Organisation is run by our existing trainers Andy Williams and Lin Cheung together with Jane Williams as Business Director. You probably won’t notice a change to the courses already offered at The Horsforth Centre.
The launch of the company means that we can now offer our own TA Training Programme including Foundation,Certificate and Diploma courses starting in October.
Why train with TA Training Organisation?
Training with TA Training Organisation is a fresh and up to date. We combine the highest quality teaching and training with key elements including:
– An outward looking approach to TA looking at the developing context of TA in the UK & further afield
– We encourage social and political awareness and attentiveness to difference and diversity
– A strong ethical foundation throughout each element of courses
The training programme is taught over three years for the Diploma or 4 years for the Certificate and made up of 10 weekends per year taught programme.
Programme Content
Year 1 (Foundation year) – theory and skills practice including the core concepts of TA theory and counselling skills development
Year 2 & 3 include an introduction to practice, working with common mental health problems, ethics, diversity and professional practice. Students have the option to take the Diploma (Year 4) on completion of year 3.
Year 4 covers therapeutic relationship, working with complex clients and psychotherapeutic research.
Each weekend is made up of theory teaching, skills practice, supervision days and group process.
